FAQs
+ For Helix Care, how many sessions do I need?
While it’s hard to say without a full assessment, minor injuries and non-chronic issues can generally see improvement within 4-6 sessions. Major injuries and long-standing chronic issues generally need 10-12 sessions. Severe, complex or multi-layered injuries generally need up to 20 sessions in order for satisfactory resolution to be reached.
+ Can I come see you even if I’m not in pain?
Absolutely. Pain is often the final manifestation of long-standing issues that build over time. It is the proverbial ‘straw that breaks the camel's back. As our jobs and lives become more sedentary, making time for movement is more important than ever. Regularly addressing minor aches before they become painful can go a long way in living a healthy, pain-free life.
+ How much is a session?
Initial consultation (60 minutes): $160.00
Follow-up appointments (30 minutes): $85.00
Strength & Conditioning session (60 minutes): $115.00
+ Do I have to continue seeing you forever?
It’s a loaded question and the answer should be “no,” but the real answer is that it depends. Are you willing to take an active role in your health? We’ll give you the tools and knowledge to live a healthy life. If you choose to take that active role, you’ll be set. Otherwise...maybe, but it’s up to you. We’ll take the time to teach you how to listen to your body so that you know when it’s time to come in, and when you can manage on your own.
+ What should I bring to an appointment?
Some dedication to the process and commitment to the prescribed drills. Otherwise, just a pair of shorts and t-shirt will do.
+ I’m a natural athlete, why do I need to train?
For any athlete, from long distance running to Olympic weightlifting and everything in between, the answer is simple: Training can build on your natural abilities to make you stronger, faster, more explosive and less injury prone. If you’re already destroying the competition, think about how training could further improve your game. If you’re struggling to keep up, think about how training could help close the gap between you and your competition.
+ At what age is it safe to start training?
That question is stigmatized by decades of myths and false information. You will not hurt your child by introducing them to a structured, age-appropriate and intelligently programmed strength training regiment. It’s never too early to start exploring the principles of strength training. It can help performance at any age, but progressions and intensity will depend on physical and mental maturity. And to be clear; we tend not to attempt max back squats with 8-year old ballet dancers!
+ You're far!
Not really a question, but we’ll tackle it anyways. Unfortunately we can’t be around the corner from everyone. We regularly have people commuting from all over the GTA and beyond. Oakville to Scarborough, Midland to Aurora and everything in between. Come once, we promise it’ll be worth the commute.
+ Is there parking?
Ample. Car wash not included.
